About us

MANICA S.p.A.  is an Italian Company, founded in 1948 in Rovereto (Trento –North-East Italy) by Manica family. The activity began producing copper sulphate, the raw material for the production  of  Bordeaux mixture ( a product for diseases protection on crops )    and immediately established a  great  reputation among the wine growers of the Adige Valley as a producer of the highest quality copper sulphate.foto azienda 1948
Since the early 70s Manica has acquired increasing shares in the national and international markets and has been constantly improving and upgrading  his products. In particular, the Company developed peculiar micro-crystals  of copper sulphate, named Snow and set up  the first plant in Italy for Bordeaux mixture production. Those important innovations and the launch of the product HPG-( High Purity Grade copper sulphate ) , enabled Manica to start selling its product portfolio to a wider range of customers: from the galvanic industry, to high tech.  producers, from the animal feed industry to printed board circuits manufacturers.

Since those days, Manica has continuously invested in new  formulation technologies, for example with the new plant for the production of the water dispersible granules, and in new products: the launch of “Bordo mixture flow”, representing the evolution of copper fungicide for crop protection.  Manica has constantly enforced its sales network in Italy and abroad, through two commercial subsidiaries, Manica Cobre in Spain and Manica Hellas in Greece. Meanwhile Manica obtained the ISO 9001:2000 certification.
Today Manica is the national and international leader in the copper-based chemicals market  with a turnover of 27 million euros in 2005. The 2  production plants of Rovereto are located on an area of approx. 100.000 square meters and employ s almost 70 workers.
Approaching the 60th anniversary of its founding, Manica looks forward, aiming at even stronger positioning on the national and international markets of copper-based chemicals, also taking advantage of the opportunity represented by the biological agriculture where copper fungicides are recommended  as they don’t harm human health nor damage the environment.
