The Carbon Footprint measures the Greenhouse Gas Emissions referred to a given product; it’s an inversely proportional parameter to the environmental sustainability and it is measured in kg CO2/kg of product. It is used to assess the impact of a given manufacture or production on climate change.
The resulting CO2 is a value measured in kgs of emitted CO2 considering also other emitted greenhouse gases like methane, nitruous oxide, halocarbons.
The carbon footprint evaluation is based on the analysis of all the phases of the process: the raw materials, the transports, production and packaging of the finished product.
Manica has calculated the carbon footprint of 7 best known products from our catalogue: COPPER SULPHATE PENTAHYDRATE, BORDEAUX MIXTURE 20% WP, BORDEAUX MIXTURE 20% WG, BORDOFLOW / MANIFLOW, COPPER OXYCHLORIDE 30% WP, COPPER OXYCHLORIDE 35% WG, COPPER OXYCHLORIDE 20% SC.
Results confirm that the carbon footprint of Manica’s plant protection products is minor than 1 kg of emitted CO2 per finished product. This low value is obtained also by the use of regenerated copper, 100% Italian, which breaks down remarkably the environmental cost of raw material and transport.
Compared to common consumer goods, one can notice the energy efficiency of Manica’s Copper:
